Can Cataracts Be Prevented?

Cataracts are a common eye condition that causes the lens of the eye to become cloudy or opaque, impairing vision. As you age, the proteins in the lens of your eye can start to break down and clump together, forming a cataract. This process typically begins around age 40, and the cataract gradually worsens over time, leading to blurry, hazy, or double vision, increased sensitivity to glare and light, and difficulty seeing at night.
